I’m still head deep into getting my CFI done, but I honestly believe I’ll be able to get my CFI by the end of April to middle of May. As such I wanted to get some parts in so that I can make more progress outside of the fiberglass work which seems to be stalled right now just because of how messy it is and how I need an extra person to help me lift the canopy over to try it out and my son just isn’t here all that often when I’m ready to get dirty. I ordered the following items which will help me continue progressing.
- Garmin GSU 25C (and the connectors for it)
- Rami VOR Antenna
- Comant CI-105 DME/Transponder Antenna
- McFarlane’s RV-10 Throttle, Mixture, and Prop controls
- IO-540 Baffle Kit from Vans
- Oil Cooler Bracket
- Cabin Heat controls
- Starter and Master solenoids
- Aerosport Overhead Console
I hope to get started first with the pitot static system and getting that fully connected up to the Garmin GSU 25C. Then I want to get the oil cooler bracket and cabin heat controls all setup. After that I want to get the starter and master solenoids installed and cables run to them. And finally I want to get the last two non-GPS antennas installed on the aircraft. I can at least make progress with these items this year so that they are out of the way and I feel that while I’m still waiting on getting an engine these items won’t age on me like the G3X system would if I bought the PFD/MFDs, the radios, etc. I want to hold off on those till the very end I feel so that way I have the most recent technology installed. Either way, I’m excited to get back and busy with my hands again rather than sitting at a computer all day and night working on lesson plans, practicing presenting them, etc.
