Top Wing Skins

I finally got time with Brendon to finish the top skins. Luckily it didn’t take too long and we were done as I hate doing work on Sundays.

I didn’t want to wear Brendon out too much today so we just finished all of the rivets that were on the skin and ribs. We will work on the main spar over the next few nights. I did go ahead and get the parts for the next portion of Read more…

I made an exception today and riveted some more with Brendon. He’s going to be busy this week and I wanted to get as much as I could done. Just have the small wing walk section to finish and then the entire row along the main spar.

Brendon and I got a few hours tonight to work on the plane. Got the middle portion of the outboard skin done.

Brendon and I had a good amount of time today to finish the right wing. Good to have that done and out of the way to finish the left side. I also got the nut plates put on this morning while he was at band.

Brendon and I finally got a good 3 hours of time to get the rivets on the ribs, rear spar, and skin done. All we have to do tomorrow is rivet the main spar and then rivet the nut plates on the onboard edge.

I decided to go ahead and prep the left wing as much as I could for riveting. I got most of it ready. I then decided to do some of the riveting on the right wing that I could solo.

Brendon was busy with more band stuff tonight so I prepped the rest of the rivets in the skin so we could just keep going on riveting. I also got all of the rivets set that I could on the top row.

I got the wings 100% level across the board so they were not twisted. I then tried to do what the instructions said to do with back riveting but it was just not working very well. I have an offset back rivet set but it just does not transfer the Read more…

I finished the inventory for the finish and QB fuse kit yesterday. I got it all squared away and stored and I took some of the hardware to bring it home and sort it with the rest of the hardware I have. I got a few hours today to get Read more…
